New Year, New Smile

The beginning of a new year is usually a time of renewed energy, optimism and change. Gym memberships are purchased, savings accounts are opened, but what about your smile? Healthy teeth and gums are a crucial part of maintaining your quality of life, so this year as you make your new year’s resolutions, we encourage you to include some dental resolutions on your list.

After all the delicious treats and sweets consumed during the holidays, your smile might be in need of a little TLC.

Eat more fruits and vegetables: Fruits and vegetables are great for your overall health and the health of your smile. Although they are sweet and delicious, they contain less sugar than processed treats. So the next time you’re thinking of reaching for a sweet snack, grab an apple instead!

Start carrying a brush: While brushing twice a day is the usual for most, a brush after each meal is the ideal for combatting decay. Having a tooth brush on hand will mean you’ll be ready to fight plaque at any time of the day. An investment in a portable toothbrush is an investment in your smile.

Don’t forget the floss: For some people, the flossing in the dental chair is the most thorough one they’ll have all year. Flossing is extremely important for maintaining the health of your smile, so don’t forget to floss at least once a day!

Come in and see us: Regular dental visits are essential for making sure that your smile is in the best shape it can be. A visit to the dentist will ensure that we’re able to spot any potential issues before they develop into serious problems. If you're anxious about your dental visit, we do have sedation options available. Book an appointment today!
